The Gohan Thriller Series

The Gohan Thriller Series introduces David “Gohan” Rice, a war hero turned missionary, whose penchant for involving himself in impossible circumstances is superseded only by his ability to figure a way out. He calls on God, his military and martial arts experience, his quickly-learned guile, and two old military/CIA buddies, who are always ready to come to his rescue. Invisible Hero is the first book in the series.

BOOK VII – The FBI Lady

A suspected white supremacist group causes havoc in a small South Dakota town. The Overseas Christian Missionary Society sends Gohan to Belle Fourche, South Dakota, assuming the troubles are minimal and the small town atmosphere will be a welcome relief after his harrowing experiences in recent years.

The trouble is exacerbated when the hate group chooses to gain national recognition by going after well-known politicians. Gohan is hampered in his efforts to stop the bloodshed by a spoiled female FBI agent who thinks he is a meddling priest.

BOOK VIII - The Assassins

As a visiting evangelist in Paris , France , Gohan is stymied by successive murders of two elders at the church with which he is associated. Working closely with France 's anti-terrorist division and Britain 's MI-5, he finds that there is not one, but two major European assassins that have him in their rifle sights.

His battle with the second assassin, a major nemesis from Gohan's past, is epic.

BOOK IX - The A Shau Rescue

In 1975, two years after the end of the Vietnam war, and after all POW's were supposedly released, a South Vietnam farmer sees twenty Americans, under Viet Cong guard, working on a bridge in the A Shau Valley.

Two special teams are created, which include Gohan and his friends Niko Rizzi and Mercy Brown, to go in, clandestinely, to rescue the beleaguered prisoners.

The Stalin Papers (not part of the Gohan Thriller Series)

Russia 's KGB, the East German Stasi, two Arab terrorists groups and the American CIA all converge on Lisbon , Portugal and Rome , Italy in an attempt to get their hands on the Stalin Papers, a set of documents held by the  Vatican that could, if they were made public, lead to World War III.

Tim Boyer, the young but experienced CIA agent assigned to the mission, finds his life in danger at every turn. The body count rises rapidly as Boyer tries to put an end to the senseless killings and get to the bottom of the danger caused by the elusive Stalin Papers.

This is the sequel to Life, Death, Life. Hess takes the reader to seldom-encountered depths that can be experienced while traveling the narrow road to holiness. For those who desire all that God has for them and all that He wants them to be, Living In The Ultimate is a necessary read.

Book III - Radical Discipleship (non-fiction)

The earliest disciples were taught Christianity by Jesus. It was powerful, sometimes harsh, and demanded discipline. Radical Discipleship is radical only in comparison to the watered-down discipleship taught in many modern-day Churches. Radical Discipleship is discipleship based on the pure, unadulterated word of God.

Book IV - Prayer At The Throne Of Grace (non-fiction)

Why aren't prayers answered? Why is their little power in prayer? The answers are available in the word of God. Prayers can and should be answered. Prayer At The Throne Of Grace is a book about prayer at a higher level than many Christians have experienced, but which all should experience.

Book V - If You Love Me, You Will Obey (non-fiction)

Obedience is the key to Christian growth. Through obedience, Christians strengthen their faith. Jesus was very clear regarding obedience. If you love me, He said, you will obey my teachings. Many of the great promises of the Bible hinge on the Christian's willingness to obey.

True Christianity includes the recognition that Almighty God is everything and He wants to be everything to every Christian. But that can't happen unless the Christian is also willing to become nothing. There is a great blessedness in becoming nothing. All that God is becomes available to the Christian who has experienced this magnificent truth.

Book VIII - Conversations With The Almighty (non-fiction)

Does God really speak to His people today? Can we fellowhip with Him the way Adam, Abraham, Moses and King David did? The answer will surprise many Christians. God desires to fellowship and to speak with His people - daily. Not once a day, but often, throughout the day. It is possible!

Book IX - The Power Of The Name Of Jesus (non-fiction)

There is immense power in the name of Jesus. Though most Christians know this, few experience it. But God wants all of His people to experience all that He is. Is God willing to perform miracles today? Not only is He willing, but there are miracles performed daily, throughout the world by our Almighty God. If we climb out of the fishbowl in which we have been living, and hear and obey the Lord, we, too, will experience the greatness of our Almighty God.

Book X - Walking In The Perfect Will Of God (non-fiction)

Yes, we can walk in the perfect will of God. but, if we want all that God is, He first must have all that we are. All of God's blessings, including answered prayer, are available to the Christian who walks in God's perfect will.

Book XI - The Terrible Day of the Lord

Are we ready for the second coming of Jesus? What does the Scripture say about the times in which we are living? Are we really prepared or are we deceived? What does God want from us at this time in history? It is not as frightening as we think, but it is more exciting than we can imagine.

Book XII - Take Up Your Cross - Daily!

The Scripture says: "Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me." Just what exactly does that mean? How do we take up our cross daily? And how important is it at this time in history? It is not just important; it is vital.

Book XIII - Intercession And The Radical Disciple

Because of the times in which we live, the true radical disciple must understand intercessory prayer, its implications, its necessity, its power and how it will affect the world around us. Do we really have the authority to call down the full power of God onto the earth? Yes! We not only have the authority, we also have the responsibility to do so.
